Employees at law office are excellent employees as far as Mr. Di Carlo very rude. I was talking to the staff on my case asking questions Mr. Di Carlo got on the line irately screaming at me and said he did all he can and hung up the phone. I do not recommend this gentleman.

Terrible people skills especially to the mentally ill(me). I’ve been with these lawyer for to long. They forgot to write up an appeal for me first two years, so I had to sign up with the lawyer again and start all over again. Twos years again and they sent me a letter stating they’re no longer support my case and to find another lawyer. This happened because of a phone conversation we had and they were saying they’ve been calling me yet they leave no voicemail. I stated otherwise and the person took it as an confrontation. I felt I was being called a liar about voicemail. It works and it’s always on I receive voicemail from my doctors offices and friends. They forget that we have difficulties because of pain and mental illness and in my opinion they don’t know how to handle people who are trying to get disabilities. No sympathy for the people yet they make money of the people in need.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
