Hired Law firm 2024-2025I strongly urge anyone considering hiring Vickie to do thorough research beforehand. In reality, much of the legal work appears to be handled by her husband, Charlie, who acts as her paralegal. Throughout my case, it became increasingly evident that he was the one managing the details, while Vickie seemed largely disengaged and unprepared. I hired Vickie for a custody case and paid her in full at the start of the process. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. She was unwilling to review or discuss any of the evidence I had compiled against the other party until roughly a week before our scheduled court date. She consistently had inaccurate information regarding my case, did not stay in communication with our caseworker, and even mistakenly sent me confidential details about another client. Communication was poor, and every minor action seemed to incur an additional fee, despite the lack of meaningful progress. On the day of the hearing (July 25, 2025), Vickie arrived inappropriately dressed, which was unprofessional and embarrassing. More importantly, she was clearly unprepared for the proceedings. The judge had to object to nearly every point she raised due to irrelevance, and I ultimately had to speak on my own behalf. The judge’s decision in my favor was based on a direct conversation with my children—not because of any effective advocacy on Vickie’s part. As of today, September 2025, the appropriate post-hearing procedures still have not been completed. I’ve reached out multiple times via email and phone without consistent updates. When I expressed my frustration about the delays and lack of professionalism, Vickie responded by yelling and using extremely inappropriate language—including telling me to “shut the f*** up.” When I brought this to Charlie’s attention, he defended her behavior, saying it was justified if they had already explained things to me before. This level of disrespect and unprofessional conduct is unacceptable, especially from a licensed attorney charging premium rates. I would not recommend Vickie’s services to anyone. Based on my experience, her practice lacks professionalism, preparation, and basic client care. I hope this review helps others make a more informed decision.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
