To families going through divorce, Katie brings unique experience from serving as an attorney/guardian ad litem and amicus attorney. She understands the emotional and financial toll that litigation can take on families; as a result, whenever possible she collaborates with clients and opposing parties to reach resolution without unnecessary litigation.
In those instances when litigation is unavoidable, she advocates aggressively for her clients in the courtroom. An effective communicator, Katie keeps her clients informed at every stage; she is also respected for working with other attorneys to keep matters from escalating and adding cost and difficulty.
Children's causes have been a longtime interest of Katie's. In college she was a substitute teacher in the Waco Independent School District, served as a mentor at Methodist Children's Home and volunteered at a Waco area elementary school. While in law school she clerked for the Honorable Martha Tanner, 166th Judicial District Court, Bexar County. In addition to her law practice, Katie serves as a board member for ArtReach, Dallas, and a board member and grant writer for Legacy Family Court Foundation.
