Overview

As a Supervisory Attorney at the Devadoss Law Firm PLLC, Morgan primarily focuses on litigating discrimination and adverse employment actions before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). She also handles internal employment investigations, Office of Special Counsel (OSC) complaints, and assists clients with responding to proposed discipline. Additionally, Morgan has experience negotiating settlement agreements on behalf of federal employees. Throughout her legal career, Morgan has handled countless cases involving federal government agencies such as USPS, Veterans Affairs, U.S. Attorney's Office, National Security Agency, and many more. In addition to her own practice, Morgan supervises and provides guidance to our associate and senior associate attorneys.

Morgan's philosophy is that great attorneys do not just know the law but also know their clients. No two situations are the same, and a victory can look different for different clients. As such, Morgan prides herself in working with clients not only as their attorney but as their advocate.

Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Morgan is a graduate of Calvin University, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in Spanish and psychology. Morgan moved to Dallas, Texas where she obtained her juris doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. While in law school, Morgan was an active member of the Hispanic Law Student Association and Criminal Clinic representing indigent defendants. In her spare time, Morgan enjoys traveling, cooking, cheering for Tottenham Hotspur, and spending time with her family and friends.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
