Attorney Information
Overview
Morgan Whisenhunt is known for her calm confidence, steady presence, and thoughtful advocacy. With deep empathy and a sharp analytical mind, she helps families navigate emotionally complex situations with clarity and care. Morgan’s experience working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault continues to shape her approach, particularly in high-conflict and sensitive family law matters.
A Dallas-area native, Morgan graduated fourth in her class from Sachse High School before heading to the University of Texas at Austin. There, she double-majored in English and Government, graduating with honors in both, and minored in Philosophy of Law. While at UT, Morgan volunteered with the SAFE Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
Her desire to serve her hometown community brought Morgan back to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. During law school, she gained hands-on experience with the Sexual Assault and Crimes Against Children divisions of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and interned at a local women’s shelter. She also represented clients through the Judge Elmo B. Hunter Legal Center for Victims of Crimes Against Women. At graduation, Morgan’s commitment to service earned her a place on the Pro Bono Honor Roll.
Morgan approaches family law with a practical, solution-oriented mindset. She believes in the power of negotiation and values clear communication and collaborative problem-solving. When possible, Morgan aims to help families reach peaceful resolutions and create lasting agreements that work for everyone involved. When court becomes necessary, Morgan is a focused and determined advocate who works tirelessly to protect her clients and their families.
Away from the office, Morgan enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family—especially her pug, Kiwi—reading, playing video games, and cheering for Longhorn sports.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
