Dan’s practice focuses on defending individual and corporate clients in high-profile civil and criminal matters arising from allegations of financial and securities fraud.

Dan has significant experience defending individuals and corporations at all stages of litigation and prosecution, and has defended clients against allegations of securities fraud, FCPA/anti-corruption issues, accounting fraud, disclosure issues, commercial bribery/kickbacks, and insider trading, among many others. Dan also has unique experience in complex financial fraud prosecutions dealing with alleged violations of the continuing financial criminal enterprise statute (18 U.S.C. §225).

Dan’s experience also includes substantial experience conducting internal investigations in both foreign and domestic markets, and defending against government investigations. Dan’s experience includes dealing with investigations of internal controls and accounting violations, insider trading, cryptocurrency fraud, anti-corruption and FCPA issues, violations of FDA regulations, data privacy/cybersecurity issues, and environmental crimes.

In addition, Dan has strong experience with civil litigation, including but not limited to defending clients against claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and employment matters. Dan’s practice routinely includes defending against parallel litigation such as shareholder derivative claims, insurer claims, and adversary proceedings.

Beyond his litigation experience, Dan also routinely advises companies on ethics and compliance matters and regulatory compliance matters. Dan has strong experience with designing and implementing compliance programs, including specific experience with anti-corruption, human trafficking, and sanctions/export control.

Dan is an active member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association and maintains a strong presence in several national and local charitable organizations.
