I hired the Law Office of J. Kevin Clark after my first attorneys charged me nearly 10k and we didn’t even have a Temporary Orders hearing. Kevin and Lisa listened closely to my needs. I relied on them heavily to help me deal with my narcissistic spouse. During the marriage, my Ex was uninvolved with our children; but, as soon as I filed for divorce, he became the “Disneyland” parent. Because of COVID, it was hard to get a final trial setting, but we managed to settle my case through mediation. Even though my divorce is finalized, I still rely on Kevin and Lisa for day to day issues that I face dealing with my Ex-husband. I would highly recommend The Law Office of J. Kevin Clark, P.C. to help you with your divorce or child custody issues. I finally feel like I can breathe.

As a father of a 5-year-old boy, I honestly couldn't ask for better lawyers to represent me in court. Lisa and Kevin normally work with me and they are AMAZING! Extremely professional, punctual, and great at communicating with me both in and out of the courtroom. One of the district judges even said I have the best family lawyers in the county. I gotta say, I agree with him. I could go on and on about how great they are but I'd be here all day. If you have a family case hire them! Especially if you're a father!!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
