Hired Law firm 2023-2024I walked into the office the first time with little faith. Who would have known the first person I'd met was Anne. She is so kind and informative. Anne got me scheduled to speak with Lester sooner than I thought possible. Lester took the time to hear my concerns and questions. He did so much more than I was expecting or thought possible. This whole office was amazing. The process was faster than thought possible, with the outcome better than can be imagined. Thank you so much to Lester and his outstanding team.

Hired Law firm 2023-202410/10 would recommend working with Lester and his team. Anne has really made the whole process so easy and stress free. Hopefully I don’t need another divorce lawyer but if I do it will be Lester reed and his great team.

Hired Law firm 2024Absolute waste of time and money. Paid him and he did nothing. Scheduled a sit down to get something going after two months of waiting and then he cancels the meeting and eventually reschedules for 3 weeks later. Went to a hearing that he assured me was only about one issue, and I asked him about the other issues on the docket, and he said it would only be about the one issue. Turns out it was about all the issues and he was completely unprepared to address them. Then brought up issues with me as though he is opposing council while I'm on the stand, for NO reason. This was beyond incompetence. Talks big, but takes no action, and refuses to communicate effectively. Says they sent me stuff through "My Case" and nothing is there. Refused to resend. He receptionist is too nice, wastes tons of times with completely unnecessary chat, she tries but literally everything is lost in translation to him. I ask questions and get no answers. $5000 to only set me back, made no progress. Did me only positive HARM.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
