Attorney Information

Overview

Leah Jackson is a Senior Trial Attorney at Barbieri Law Firm, where she focuses exclusively on criminal defense for individuals facing serious charges throughout Dallas County and the greater North Texas area. She represents clients accused of felony and misdemeanor offenses, including juvenile crimes, drug charges, assault and sexual assault allegations, crimes against children, and federal criminal cases.

Ms. Jackson believes that every client’s case begins with a story that deserves to be fully understood. She approaches criminal defense by first listening carefully to her clients and learning the circumstances surrounding their situation, then methodically analyzing how the evidence aligns with that narrative. This approach allows her to develop defense strategies that are grounded in both facts and human context.

Before joining Barbieri Law Firm, Ms. Jackson served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dallas, where she prosecuted criminal cases and gained substantial courtroom experience. Her time as a prosecutor provided valuable insight into how cases are charged, evaluated, and litigated by the government. After gaining this experience, she transitioned to criminal defense to focus on representing individuals she believes were unfairly accused or disproportionately impacted by the criminal justice system.

Clients appreciate Ms. Jackson’s persistence and her commitment to advocating beyond the first offer or initial obstacle in a case. She works to create an environment where clients feel safe sharing sensitive information and understands that trust and open communication are essential to effective representation. Her goal is to guide clients through the legal process with clarity while pursuing outcomes that protect their rights and futures.

Ms. Jackson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas State University, a background that informs her understanding of behavior, credibility, and communication in criminal cases. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law, where she earned recognition for advocacy and completed a judicial internship. During law school, she assisted with post-conviction relief petitions, helping individuals seek review and fair resolution of their cases.

Ms. Jackson is licensed to practice law in Texas and is an active member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Young Lawyers Association, and the J.L. Turner Legal Association. She has also been inducted into the National Order of Barristers in recognition of her advocacy skills.
