Justin was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. He graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Brownsville in 2006, earning a B.A. in government studies. During his time at UT Brownsville, Justin held the prestigious position of president in the local chapter of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society, and he was also a proud member of the Alpha Chi National University Honor Society. Following his graduation, he embarked on a professional journey at the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation.
Later, Justin attended Texas Tech University School of Law. During his time there, he excelled as a brief writer on two national moot court teams. His teams achieved impressive results, reaching the semifinals at the 2009 Pepperdine University National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition and the quarterfinals at the 2010 American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Justin's exceptional skills were recognized when he received the Best Brief Award in the law school's local moot court competition. Furthermore, he received the prestigious Jurisprudence Award for his outstanding academic performance in courses on commercial law, professional responsibility and advanced bankruptcy.
