SE PUDESSE, DARIA 0 ESTRELAS! FUJAM DESSA FIRMA! DO NOT BELIEVE ON THE 5 STARS REVIEW WITHOUT CHECKING THE LOWEST ONES!!!

Find another lawyer. He has no integrity, his greed proceeds him, and he does sloppy work. After questioning the little work he did do, he tried to blame us saying we waited until the "last minute" as there was a deadline for the following week, but he was very well aware of this deadline BEFORE he took us on as clients and sat very smug in his chair saying it wouldn't be an issue and he could take care of it, so if he couldn't handle it, he should have never taken the case. As I have already said, his greed proceeds him. He is the type of attorney that tries to take advantage of people, does what he thinks is in his own best interest (which seems to be closely associated with greed) and not necessarily the clients'. He didn't even honor his own contract. Would not recommended to anyone. In spite of some positive reviews, greed and the client doing most of the work seems to be a common theme with those who are not happy with his lackluster services. He was not very attentive, never even read the main report associated with the case (which he admitted himself)- mind you this case has been pending for over 5 months, he was very dismissive over legitimate concerns, we wrote our own affividit with no help from him, LITERALLY all he did was file the paperwork (electronically and using a wavier so no court fees incurred) that included a written 9 page paper (with errors) that may have taken him a few hours at most to do but charged $5000 up front. The contract we signed states VERY CLEARLY that this cost would include up to and through the trial but after over 5 months of waiting (since filing that one thing in the beginning throughout this time, he is doing absolutely nothing) for the judge to make a decision, in which she denied the trial (meaning we didnt even go to trial, not that we went and lost) he refused to refund any of the money. The fact that we did not go to trial isnt the issue. The issue is that money was put up, in part, to cover the trial (we all anticipated would happen but didnt) and he refused to refund any of it. He ALSO refused to give an itemized receipt because he knows he did not truly earn the full amount of that money with the minimum and sloopy work that was done. He was extremely and unnecessarily rude when it was asked of him. He already had his hand out asking for more money when he hadn't EARNED all of what he had already gotten. I repeat...he has ZERO integrity, VERY unethical and unprofessional.

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
