Hired Law firm 2021I thank God for Attorney Keith Harris. He is truly a God-send and he has definitely been a blessing to my family. He took my case for child custody at the last moment, and although he had very little time to prepare for trial. he did such an excellent job in pleading my case, I was honestly shocked but grateful. The effort he put forth to be the voice for my child made me realize that he is an uniquely caring and intelligent individual; he gave 300% of himself and his expertise to help her. I say this because before I retained Atty. K. Harris, I had spoken with well over 15 to 20 other attorneys who all said that a half day was too short a time period to file paperwork and adequately prepare for trial, therefore not one of them were willing to take my case - that is, no one but Atty. Keith Harris would. And he was so well prepared in just a few hours for trial that he easily made the opposing counsel appear to be inexperienced and unknowledgeable of the law. He won my case and I received custody of my child. I suggest if you have an issue that requires a good attorney, then please give Atty. Keith Harris a call first. He truly cares about others, he is professional and more than qualified to assist you. I honestly will retain him if I ever need a family attorney again. I saw first-hand his skill level and what he is capable of doing in a courtroom. Thank God Atty. K. Harris was on my side instead of the opposing side. I would have lost my case and my child would have been gone.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
