Overview
Jacob Schrader is a personal injury attorney with Trust Guss Injury Lawyers who represents people injured in motor vehicle accidents, commercial vehicle crashes, and other personal injury matters. A Texas native whoβs been practicing since 2017, Jacob approaches each case with a focus on understanding what the client is actually facing and helping them make sense of the legal process.
Jacob was drawn to personal injury law because it gives him an opportunity to make a direct difference for people who may suddenly find themselves up against an insurance company with far greater resources and familiarity with the claims process.
βI wanted to be in an area of law where you can see a direct impact and really help the little guy against the big corporation.β
Jacob Schrader grew up in College Station, Texas, before attending Baylor University, where he earned his B.A. in History in 2009. He later earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2016.
Jacob entered the legal profession with a straightforward goal: to help people. Personal injury law gave him an opportunity to see the direct impact of that work, particularly when representing someone who has been seriously injured and suddenly finds themselves dealing with an insurance company or corporation.
Rather than pointing to a single case that shaped his career, Jacob sees the cumulative experience of representing injured clients as what continues to reinforce why he chose this work. He finds particular satisfaction in helping someone who has been dealt a difficult hand reach a better position than they expected when they first came to him.
βItβs really the culmination of all of them. Somebodyβs been seriously hurt and dealt a bad hand, and Iβm able to use what I do to help balance the scales and put them in a much better position than they thought theyβd be in.β
Jacob believes good representation starts with listening. He takes the time to understand not only what happened to a client, but what is really concerning them and what they hope to accomplish through the case.
From there, Jacob focuses on helping clients understand the legal process and the options available to them. He values straightforward communication and believes an attorney should be able to explain complicated issues in a way that helps clients make informed decisions about how they want to move forward.
βI try to really listen to the heart of the matter and figure out what the real issue is. Then I can work toward resolving it while explaining how the law works and helping the client understand what the possibilities are for their case.β
Jacob regularly handles motor vehicle accident claims as well as premises liability cases. Within his motor vehicle practice, he has developed particular experience with accidents involving commercial vehicles β cases he says can require a different level of strategy than a typical passenger vehicle collision.
βCommercial vehicle cases are a whole different game. Itβs like going from Little League baseball straight into professional baseball. Itβs still the same game, but the way you move, the way you strategize, and the way you deal with people can be completely different.β
Jacob particularly enjoys the strategic challenges involved in commercial vehicle cases and the opportunity to investigate the conduct that contributed to a serious collision.
Jacob approaches each client as an individual, not simply another case. He starts by listening closely to understand the clientβs concerns and priorities, then works to explain the available options in clear, straightforward terms.
For Jacob, that communication is important because the decisions ultimately affect the clientβs life. He wants clients to understand what is happening, what their options are, and what those options could mean for their case so they can make decisions that are right for them. Once a client decides how they want to proceed, Jacob focuses on seeing that decision through.
βGreat client service means listening to the client and putting all the options on the table so they understand whatβs going on and can make the best decision for themselves. Then itβs about seeing that decision through to the end.β
