Attorney Information
Overview
Attorney Gonzalez is a Mexican born immigrant who moved to the United States at the young age of 7 years old. Despite growing up in the United States, he was brought up by his Mexican immigrant parents with Mexican values that inspired him to pursue a legal career and help the Hispanic community attain the American Dream. As an immigrant himself, Attorney Gonzalez navigated the intricate and complex immigration laws with his family until they all attained their U.S. Citizenship. Living the complex immigration battle firsthand has made immigration law personal to him.
Attorney Gonzalez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Houston where he graduated Cum Laude. Wasting no time, he pursued his legal education and graduated from Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and in the top 10% of his class.
Attorney Gonzalez is well-versed in many areas of immigration law, ranging from affirmative applications before the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service ("USCIS"), to removal defense before the Immigration Court. He also helps immigrants who have been victims of abuse, crimes, or human trafficking within the United States. Attorney Gonzalez is ready to help anyone and everyone he can, always expanding his legal knowledge to further his assistance to the Hispanic community.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
