Mr. Onwuteaka, who is a licensed attorney and a Certified Public Accountant, leads the firm. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Thurgood Marshall Law School in 1986. His formal education also includes an MBA from Texas Southern University and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Alabama A & M University.

The firm is also staffed with at least one Associate Attorney and three (3) Legal Assistants. Prior to establishing his firm, Onwuteaka was employed with Szabo, Tenneco Oil Company as an accountant.

He is licensed to practice law in all State of Texas courts, the United States Southern District of Texas Federal Courts, United States Tax Courts, and United States Court of Appeals. Joseph Onwuteaka has also won several Texas Appellate Court cases that have made law at least in Texas, including the Landmark case of Carter v. Allstate Insurance Co., 962 S.W. 2d 268 (Tex. App. - Houston [1st Dist.] 1998).
