Overview

Mr. Hart came to Houston in 1979 to study law at the University of Houston. After passing the bar exam in 1983, Mr. Hart practiced commercial law in Houston for 13 years. After pursuing an advanced law degree in Europe, Mr. Hart spent 7 years in government service working for the US Government and an international organization, living both in Washington, DC and in Europe. Desiring to return to Houston and to engage in a legal practice that permitted him to become more directly engaged with the lives of his clients, Mr. Hart opened a practice dedicated solely to family law. He currently accept cases in all areas of family law and restricts his practice to the area of family law.

Mr. Hart enjoys getting to know his clients and helping his clients resolve, in a pragmatic way, the sometimes difficult problems, situations and issues that have developed in their lives. While compassionate in his understanding of people's circumstances, he dispassionately considers the most practical and pragmatic options available to his clients and is aggressive in asserting his clients' rights. His goal always is to obtain the most optimal result possible for his client and his client's family under the circumstances and he endeavors to provide the highest quality legal representation possible.

As a lawyer who is fluent in Spanish, Mr. Hart offers significant benefits and an important advantage to Spanish-speaking clients. He brings an international perspective to those clients whose affairs are cross-border in scope.

Mr. Hart and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Bar Association Family Law Section. Mr. Hart received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of California at Berkeley in 1979; a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Houston School of Law in 1982; and a Master of Laws degree, cum laude, from the University of Louvain, Belgium in 1997. He is happily married to Nadia Laamarti.
