Houston Immigration Law Firm
Overview
Proud to serve Houston area individuals and businesses with immigration law needs as well as clients seeking estate planning or family law services, I am dedicated attorney Zara Ali. From conveniently located Houston law offices, I serve immigration clients already in Texas as well as those still in other countries planning to immigrate to the U.S. My clients look to me for help obtaining family-based and employment-based visas, visitors' permits and green cards with minimal complications or delays.
Born in England, I am a Texas lawyer with personal experience in the area of immigration law as well as distinctive professional accomplishments. My Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of Houston Law Center, with a focus on business immigration, sets me apart as well as my commitment to meeting immigration needs of my clients in a customized way. I skillfully and confidently advise and represent international students, business men and women from overseas, and individuals seeking visas for family members. I assist Texas employers in need of work visas for prospective employees from India, Mexico or any country. I speak English and Hindi and can accommodate people who speak other languages and need interpretation or translation services. Persistence is a key aspect of my law practice. Examining every case with fresh eyes, I often discover unexpected, expedient solutions to immigration challenges.
I am also a certified mediator trained and experienced in family law mediation. I bring respect for individual perspectives as well as extensive knowledge and experience relevant to divorce, child custody and other family law matters. When family law and immigration law problems intersect, my law firm can help in both legal practice areas. I welcome inquiries to Zara Ali & Associates and will gladly take the time to listen and respond thoughtfully to questions and concerns.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
