Attorney Information

Overview

I am a founding and managing partner of The Law Offices of Tyler & Peery. I practice throughout all of the counties of Texas and have personally tried cases in South Texas, the Texas Hill Country and the Panhandle. My basic desire is to help people who have been hurt or wronged as a result of someone’s negligence or wrongful act.

Our practice is devoted almost exclusively to a Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Practice. Many of our current clients are repeat clientele and we receive many referrals from other attorneys in and around San Antonio who place their confidence in us to help them and their clients when faced with personal injury matters.

My family roots go back to the very beginning days of Texas history and the Alamo. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 1983 and graduated from St. Mary’s Law School in 1986. I have found it both rewarding and honorable to represent those who are in need.

I am licensed to practice law in all state courts of Texas since 1986 and have been a member of the State Bar since that date. I am licensed to practice law in Federal Court for the Western District of Texas. I am also licensed in the state of Colorado and maintain a law office in Montrose, Colorado. I have been a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, The San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, The Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America (APITLA) and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) for many years. I am rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and am board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

My practice involves all aspects of personal injury claims and wrongful death litigation but my main focus usually involves 18 wheeler cases, automobile cases and premises liability.

Our firm has the financial ability and manpower to take on large companies and place our clients on equal footing with anyone. It is very important to investigate fully the potential injury of each client. At times, this involves the retention of experts and specialists who can see our clients and evaluate injuries. We have the experience and financial ability to see that our clients are fully evaluated prior to any settlement of a claim.

I have personally tried or settled cases in Bexar County, Comal County, Guadalupe County, Gonzalez County, Wilson County, Atascosa County, Medina County, Frio County, La Salle County, Webb County, Maverick County, Uvalde County, Potter County, Gillespie County, Kerr County, Williamson County, Burnet County, Travis County, Harris County, Tarrant County, Dallas County, Nueces County, Hidalgo County, Harris County and Val Verde County and many other counties in and around Texas.

If you have been injured, I would like to the opportunity to help you. I will work hard and diligently on your case and will keep you informed of the status of your case.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
