Attorney Information
Overview
Casey Sirianni joined Lawhorn Law from the Smith County District Attorney's Office. He brings prosecutor-side knowledge of how cases are charged, evaluated, and tried in East Texas courtrooms—and now uses that insight to defend people facing the State.
Casey L. Sirianni is a Senior Associate and Justice Advocate at Lawhorn Law, P.C. in Tyler. He joined the firm after serving as a prosecutor with the Smith County District Attorney's Office, where he worked the same dockets, courthouses, and local procedures that now define the firm's criminal defense practice.
That background matters.
A former prosecutor knows how the State builds a file: what intake looks like, how charging decisions are made, where the proof is thin, and what a jury in Smith County (and neighboring East Texas counties) actually hears. Casey's work is to turn that knowledge outward—for the accused, not the government.
Casey earned his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2019 and was licensed in Texas on October 25, 2019. He practices in Tyler and appears in the state courts of Smith County and surrounding counties, consistent with the firm's East Texas trial practice.
Before and alongside public service, Casey's East Texas practice has also included court-appointed and private work in the criminal and related dockets that move through this region. Clients get a lawyer who already knows the players, the calendars, and the difference between a case that should be tried and a case that should be resolved.
At Lawhorn Law he focuses on criminal defense and related trial work, standing with clients from investigation and first appearance through plea, trial, and post-trial issues. The firm's approach is the same whether the charge is a misdemeanor, a felony, or a high-stakes accusation that will follow someone for years: prepare early, tell the truth about risk, and fight the case that is actually in the file—not the case that is described in a press release or Facebook post.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
