Overview
Madeline L. Porter has nearly a decade of experience practicing Criminal and Juvenile law. She grew up in Tyler, Texas before receiving her undergraduate degree in Communication with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University in College Station.
After receiving her undergraduate degree, she attended the Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock. While attending law school, Ms. Porter participated in numerous community activities benefiting surrounding youth, including work as a member of the Texas Tech Dean’s Community Teaching Fellows, which works with at-risk teens. She also worked at the Lubbock County District Attorney's Office in the Juvenile division, which also influenced her to pursue a path in Juvenile law. Ms. Porter has been highly involved in mock trial starting in her high school years, and she continued to participate in college and throughout law school. These experiences gave her a passion for courtroom advocacy and trial work.
After graduating from law school in May of 2017, she worked as a prosecutor in the Smith County District Attorney’s Office. During her years there, she never lost a jury trial. After several years as a prosecutor, Ms. Porter shifted her practice to Criminal Defense and worked at the Sinclair Law Office, focusing on Criminal, Juvenile, and CPS cases. She joined Boren & Mims in 2024, where she continues to represent and defend both Juveniles and Adults in criminal cases in East Texas.
She is licensed to practice in Texas and has been admitted to the Eastern District of Texas federal court. She is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Smith County Bar Association (Board of Directors), and the Smith County Young Lawyers Association (Past President 2025-2026).
