Overview

As an attorney, Zachary practices in all areas of family law, including property distribution, divorce, support, child custody disputes, protective orders, prenuptial agreements, and postnuptial agreements. Zachary was recognized as one of Virginia’s top practitioners under 40 by Thomson Reuter’s Super Lawyers in 2026.

As a resident of Arlington since 2020, Zachary is dedicated to serving families throughout the Northern Virginia community. Zachary regularly appears in Circuit and Juvenile Courts throughout Northern Virginia. Zachary has extensive experience appearing as an attorney for children in need of services (CHINS), and in child abuse & neglect cases appearing as both an attorney for parents and guardian ad litem for children.

Zachary earned his J.D. from George Mason University (Scalia) Law School in 2023. He received his Bachelors in History and Philosophy from Seton Hall University of New Jersey, in 2019, where he graduated magna cum laude. He is admitted to the Virginia State Bar, and is a member in good standing. Zachary has worked exclusively in the area of Family Law since 2021. Zachary worked for Schmergel & Mersberger, PLC throughout law school gaining experience on family law matters, while also serving as an editor on the George Mason International Law Journal, and as a member of the law school's alternative dispute resolution. Since being admitted to the bar Mr. Moore has continued to work alongside other members of the firm assisting clients in Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria, and Prince William.

Outside the firm Zachary is active in the Northern Virginia legal community regularly attending events for the Arlington, Alexandria, & Fairfax bars along with his wife.

Prior to law school Mr. Moore worked as a research analyst at Financial Industry Technical Services, Inc.
