After graduating cum laude from Lenoir-Rhyne College, Dana J. Cornett obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at William & Mary. She established a solo practice in Harrisonburg in 1987, focusing primarily on family law but also devoting a portion of her practice to such diverse areas as property litigation, wills, and landlord-tenant. She is admitted to practice in all Virginia state courts and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia and has argued cases before the Virginia Court of Appeals and Virginia Supreme Court.
