Overview
Duncan Reid graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1970 and from the University of Richmond Law School in 1975.After being admitted to the Bar in 1975, he was in a general private practice through 1976.
In 1977, Duncan Reid started a thirty-five year career with the Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.He served as the Chief Deputy the last eighteen of those years.While at the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office, he tried hundreds of jury trials, including multiple capital murder trials, the Piper Rountree case and the first case in Henrico involving DNA. Duncan Reid was the lead prosecutor in one of the Nation’s first cases using a Geographic Information System to enhance a fingerprint from a crime scene and also tried one of the first cases in Virginia using cell towers to prove a murder.
Since retiring from public service in 2011, Duncan Reid has used his wealth of experience to represent clients facing criminal and traffic charges and assist in the firm's civil practice.
