With over four decades of courtroom experience, Robert Slaughter is a seasoned trial lawyer who brings deep expertise and unwavering dedication to every personal injury case.
His legal career began in 1979 as a prosecutor in Norfolk, Virginia, where he rose to Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney. He was later in private practice in North Carolina before returning to public service, including a role as interim Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Having handled well over a hundred jury trials and countless other court appearances across Virginia and North Carolina, Mr. Slaughter is a proven advocate with the strategic insight and litigation skills needed to win serious injury cases.
A retired U.S. Army colonel, Mr. Slaughter served from 1975 to 2009, primarily in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service in Iraq. His commitment to justice extends beyond the courtroom through humanitarian work in Rwanda, Haiti, and the Middle East.
While a majority of his practice is spent in personal injury law, Mr. Slaughter continues his work in criminal defense.
Mr. Slaughter also represents farmers in agricultural law matters.
