Hired Law firm 2019hired One of there lawyers to be Guardian ad litem for a custody case , communication was horrible except when it came to taking our money . The report due was scheduled for may of 2019 did not receive our report until mid October even after having a contempt hearing just for the GAL / lawyer in employment with you . Changed the price of our case three times with no explanation refused to give a receipt . Told my step son during his GAL interview that its the Mexican way to just beat your women and as a 13yr old boy he should be used to seeing that . During this whole process the Gal actually observed a visit and seen how bad the visits were going and the lack of communication between father and son and the lack of affection and attention and still NEGLECTED TO PUT THAT IN HER FINAL REPORT. when the report did come out it was full of personal opinion and biases and completely unprofessional . After all this BS we had to go through to get this report we DID NOT EVEN F****** USE THE REPORT AND STILL GOT CHARGED MORE. I believe the GAL / lawyer I am talking of need to be put in front of and Ethics committee , Washington state bar and suspended or disbarred

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
