Tamara A. Pérez Cantalapiedra - Kent, WA

Tamara A. Perez Cantalapiedra is an associate attorney exclusively practicing immigration law at Hanis Irvine Prothero, PLLC. Tamara represents clients in a wide variety of immigration-related cases, including family-based immigration matters, U-visas, T-visas, VAWAs, waiver applications, removal defense, and more.

Tamara was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She came to the mainland U.S. to pursue her education. During her internships at the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), World Relief Chicago, and Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center, she confirmed her passion of helping others through the law and committed to becoming an immigration lawyer. Reuniting detained unaccompanied minors with their families, guiding migrant children towards legal status, and helping detained clients find relief were some of her most important cases. In addition to native Spanish and English fluency, Tamara improved her French-language skills under the Foreign Language Acquisition Grant.

Tamara received her Juris Doctor Degree from Boston College Law School in 2024, during which she also pursued a master’s degree in philosophy. She was president of Boston College Law School’s Latin American Law Student Association and worked in the Boston College Immigration Clinic. After graduating law school, Tamara started her career as a law clerk at Hanis Irvine Prothero, PLLC and quickly became an immigration attorney after passing the Washington State Bar. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
