Overview
Kurt is the Senior Attorney at our firm: Kurt Bennett - The Redemption Lawyer, the firm he founded in 2000. Since its beginnings, Kurt has been a zealous advocate for hundreds of clients, representing people from all walks of life. From stay at home parents to professional athletes, each client gets the highest level of attention and representation.
Kurt has been at the forefront of "Redemption Law" - the law of clearing criminal records. As such, Kurt has been a frequent faculty member of Lorman, NBI, the Criminal Justice Institute, King County Bar Association, and Washington State Bar Association to teach and update lawyers and judges on current trends in Washington Law. In addition, Kurt has been requested to testify before committees of the Washington Legislature on proposed legislation.
From 2009 - 2013, Kurt served as a Judge Pro Tem for the King County District Court, where he presided over thousands of cases at all stages of proceedings. This experience gives Kurt valuable perspective on his cases.
Kurt is passionate about Redemption Law and freeing people from their pasts. Kurt has gained a solid reputation for his creative solutions to complicated problems that allow his clients to move forward constructively. Be it Pardons, Certificates of Restoration of Opportunity, Expungements, or other legal remedies, Kurt is dedicated to finding solutions.
In addition to the practice of law, Kurt is an avid musician, outdoorsman, and practitioner of Tae Kwon Do.
