    Hired Law firm 2022-2026
Terry and his secretary are extremely unprofessional. I have known him since I was a little kid and played with his daughter. He was my grandparents neighbor for years. He handled my parents divorce, their custody case, as well as both my grandparents estates and my uncles. He has not only lied to me and my family when we ask him questions about our inheritance, but he steers me in the wrong direction when I contacted him regarding how to handle my grandma's estate. He hangs up on me when I call him, he yells at me and he also asks me if I'm high. He threatened my husband when my husband went in person to his office by saying that his brother is he chief of police in Puyallup, when my husband only went to ask him to answer my phone calls. He is a disgrace to his profession and he has no business whatsoever being an attorney (maybe that's why he's finally retiring this year?). He also stole thousands of dollars from my inheritance and my brother and sisters and has the audacity to act like I'm in the wrong when I ask him where it's at. He lied and told me he sent all of our money to the unclaimed money of Washington, and when I called that place and they said they have no idea whatsoever of him sending the money there. ATTENTION TO WHOEVER NEEDS AN ATTORNEY - DO NOT ASK HIM FOR HELP OR TO REPRESENT YOU OR YOU'LL BE SORRY YOU DID!!!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
