We engaged with Edward Chung through our pre-paid legal program regarding an insurance dispute. We had experienced a flood and had relied on verbal approvals from our Claims Manager to proceed with work on our home. The insurance company packed out our entire house to replace the matching floors. Then delayed paying ServPro who would not return our belongings until the insurance paid for the pack out. We were without furniture and significant amounts of clothing for 4 months. When the insurance made their final payment towards the repairs, it was 40% of what was submitted and verbally approved. We retained Edward Chung on a partial retainer. He issued a demand letter and ultimately a letter offering a right to cure. It appeared we were headed to a lawsuit. But Edward offered to take a decreased percentage of the agreed to split. This helped us arrive at a settlement that made us hole, was agreeable to the insurance and eliminated the need for a risky trial. We are very pleased with the outcome of our case.

Mr. Chung's exceptional legal expertise and strategic prowess were instrumental in a remarkable outcome for my case. Facing a minor car accident and a frivolous lawsuit, he skillfully navigated the legal landscape and, impressively, prevented any settlement payments or judgments against me. His sharp legal mind and assertive approach, often likened to that of a legal "shark," ensured that my interests were vigorously protected. Mr. Chung's dedication to securing a favorable resolution without financial repercussions for me is a testament to his exceptional abilities as a lawyer. While sometimes communication was on the backburner, you shouldn't be alarmed, Mr. Chung is feverntly working legal magic and will get back to you accordingly. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a tenacious and effective legal advocate. I hope to never have a legal conundrum again, but in the case I do, there is no doubt about choosing him as my lawyer.

Mr. Chung handled an appeal for me against the telemarketing industry and a judge who seemed to me had a vendetta against me. I found Edward to be very knowledgeable, explained things well, and he handled a legal situation other lawyers would not touch. And we won big!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
