Overview

Yemi Ajayi's quest to expand his worldview led him to practice law. Always interested in helping others solve problems—personal, professional, and now legal—he is a serious student of people, industries, and interests outside of his own. As a result, he carries a wealth of knowledge that he applies to his work on behalf of victims of intentional or negligent acts.

Yemi has spent nearly his entire career representing victims of serious accidents, product defects, pharmaceutical mass torts, and more, recovering millions of dollars for injured clients. At PCVA, he dedicates most of his practice to obtaining justice for adult victims of childhood sexual abuse. He conducts discovery and investigations, diving into institutions and entities' records where clients' sexual abuses occurred. His subjects include Catholic dioceses, group home and foster care systems, and youth scouting and sports organizations. He taps into the deep experience and resources available at PCVA, working collaboratively to uncover damaging evidence, including denials of systemic abuse, incident cover-ups, and secret files. In delivering cases, motions, and discovery to courts and other parties, Yemi is deliberate, disciplined, and respectful.

With empathy and expertise, Yemi guides clients through the ofttimes mentally frustrating and emotionally challenging legal process associated with these complex cases. He treats each client as an individual, recognizing that everyone has different tolerance thresholds. While most victims want their injury to be exposed, receive compensation for their loss, and find closure, the path is rarely straightforward. His central tenet in childhood sex abuse cases is to ensure victims' voices are heard, yet he also knows that dredging up the experience is exceptionally uncomfortable and difficult for many. Using a focused approach, Yemi helps clients understand their legal options and put them at ease. He works with clients to articulate the wrongs inflicted upon them and find clarity to set realistic expectations and goals.

Yemi views his job to pursue clients' interests to the best of his ability and keep their cases on track. His advocacy provides a chance for a new start for many victims and lays the groundwork for changes to laws. He is devoted to ensuring that all survivors have their "day in court." In some cases, hearing adult sexual abuse victims' voices also prevents future institutional sex abuse from going forward.
