Attorney Information
Overview
Amy has focused on employment law since the beginning of her career. Starting out, she worked for one of the largest law firms in the country representing corporate employers. Although she learned early that helping corporations was not in her DNA, this experience was critical in forming her dynamic approach to enforcing the rights of employees. It gave her first-hand knowledge of how employers often try to cover their tracks so that they aren't held accountable for illegal and unfair treatment of workers.
With a keen understanding that large employers usually use their size and muscle to push individuals to doubt their chances of success, Amy will not back down. She knows it takes courage to take on a corporation. She strives to help her clients understand what to expect throughout the legal process and to relieve their fears about being kicked around. She will protect her clients and their interests every step of the way. Amy knows her cases are not about her, but instead are about empowering her clients to obtain full justice.
Amy's skill is evident in the results she has achieved for her clients in trials and settlement negotiations. She is regularly ranked as one of the leading attorneys in the field of employment law. She has been recognized by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, Nation's Top 1%, and as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers. Her peers regularly recognize her with the distinction of Super Lawyer. Her clients have given her a rating of 10 out of 10 by the peer and client-reviewed organization AVVO. Amy's writings also have been published on a wide variety of topics. She was the Editor in Chief of the American Bar Association's FLSA Supplement and a Member of the Eighth Circuit Committee on Model Jury Instructions, where she worked with judges and selected practitioners to draft model civil jury instructions for federal court.
