Attorney Information
Overview
Megan Wernli attended High School near Yakima in Wapato, WA. Following high school, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of Washington.
Her background in Bioengineering, including research on the intersection of biology and medicine, provides her with a unique perspective. Meg understands the priorities of big hospitals. Because of her insight, she knows how the voice of a single patient can easily get lost or neglected.
During law school, Meg was a Rule 9 Intern for Dore Deutscher Law Group. Over those five years, Meg gained significant discovery, motion, trial, and general complex litigation experience. At this time, she also clerked at the Washington State Office of the Attorney General.
Throughout law school Meg worked as a research assistant in the area of Race and the Law. During this period she discovered her passion. Meg deeply enjoyed representing people who were facing large and powerful corporations. Serving clients injured by the failure of physicians, nurses, and hospitals sparked her law career.
Meg received her Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law when she graduated cum laude in 2012. Following graduation, Meg earned admission to the Washington Bar Association. Dore Deutscher Law Group, the firm where she was an intern, immediately offered her an associate’s position. She accepted the offer and began her legal career.
Meg holds licenses to practice law in Washington state and the United States District Court for the Western District. Since her career began, she has represented clients in King, Snohomish, Pierce, Clallam, Chelan, Yakima, and Thurston counties.
Megan Wernli began working at Bernard Law Group 2015. She joined a group of attorneys that share her deep commitment to representing individuals. They understand it can be confusing, frustrating, or downright belittling to deal with large companies. An insurance company, risk management department, or corporation seems unbeatable when you are on your own.
Due to this disparity, Meg represents individuals against large entities. She stands up to hospitals, clinics, trucking and bus companies, insurance companies, and corporations on her clients’ behalf. Meg protects her clients’ rights with a deep commitment to serving justice. She works diligently in order to ensure that victims receive fair compensation for their injuries.
“So many times clients tell me what an insurance adjuster communicated to them about their case value. Adjusters often downplayed the severity of clients’ injuries before they hired me as their attorney.
This is usually a lie and an attempt to pressure the victim into an early settlement. Things change once they hire an experienced attorney who will actually listen and fight for them.”
