Overview
Michael Rea joined Bricklin and Newman LLP in December 2022. Prior to his legal career, Michael worked in management for a marine services company, as well as on the leadership team for a non-profit serving Seattle's homeless community.
Michael earned his Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law with a strong focus on environmental law, climate change policy, and administrative law. During law school, Michael clerked with Our Children's Trust, where he worked on federal- and state-level climate change cases involving the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Public Trust Doctrine, and public nuisance. Michael was also heavily involved in the Environmental Law Society, serving as President during his 3L year, where he spearheaded efforts to expand the environmental law curriculum and organized panel events on climate litigation in the United States. After law school, Michael clerked with the Pollution Control Hearings Board where he worked on highly technical cases involving issues such as commercial composting emissions, water rights adjudication, and the transmittal of liquified natural gas.
Michael Rea is a dedicated and passionate advocate for the environment and sustainability. In his free time, Michael is a kiteboarder and surfer who loves to explore Washington's waters for the perfect combination of wind and waves.
