Overview
Kimberly April has practiced Family Law in the Tacoma/Pierce County area for more than 20 years. Kim's family law career began while still in law school as an intern for Diana Lynn Kiesel, with whom she worked for over a decade, until Judge Kiesel's appointment to the Pierce County Superior Court Bench as a Court Commissioner/
In her 20+ years as a family lawyer, Kim has handled many different types of family law cases ranging from divorce cases, domestic violence, child support, child custody and visitation cases. Her creativity and flexibility as a lawyer, even when dealing with challenging issues, are central to her immense courtroom success.
With most clients complaining about lawyers' failure to listen before providing legal assistance, Kim is known for her excellent listening skills and a compassionate approach to client issues. Besides her excellent communication skills and compassionate personality, she is reputed for her intelligent and persistent legal representation. With her detail-oriented approach and "always one to follow through" nature, she is always ready for emergencies and keeps her clients informed throughout the case.

Kim received her bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in 1996, graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 1999 and is a licensed practitioner in the State of Washington and the United States District Court. She is a member of the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association, TPCBA Family Law Section. She was selected to Super Lawyers 2020-2022. This peer designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state.
