Attorney Information
Overview
I am the Senior Partner at Padway & Padway Ltd. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in History, with honors, and I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1975. I have continuously practiced law at Padway & Padway Ltd. since graduating from law school. I have extensive civil and criminal litigation experience. Over my many years I have successfully tried significant cases to verdict, including multiple not guilty verdicts in first degree homicide cases, multi-million dollar awards in personal injury/accident cases, successful products liability verdicts, divorce, and commercial real estate trials. I successfully argued and presented cases before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Wisconsin State Court of Appeals, and the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. I also have extensive experience in substantial (40M in value or more) commercial real estate transactions and related business matters. Martindale Hubble gave me their highest rating, AV, back in the 90’s and I have continuously maintained that highest rating. The Honorable Jeffrey A. Wagner appointed me to serve as his Court Commissioner.
In addition to my law practice, I currently serve as the Chairman of the North Shore Fire Commission and I have served on that Commission since 1998. I previously served on the City of Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission (1988-1994), serving as the Chairperson of that Commission for four years. I am currently a member of the board of directors for the Milwaukee Survive Alive Foundation and a member of the Milwaukee Fire Bell Club. I coached youth hockey for 20 years and officiated both youth and high school hockey. In addition, I am a Past President of Congregation Sinai in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. These volunteer activities demonstrate my desire to make our community a better and safer place for all to live, work, play and enjoy.
My wife Janet and I have four children, including two lawyers – one of which is in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General Corps and the other practices law here at the family firm. Another child is a project manager for a large Madison corporation and the youngest works in Washington D.C. for the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
