Attorney Information
Overview
Tracy is a passionate and dedicated civil trial lawyer. He devotes his practice to people who have been injured or have had their rights violated. In more than thirty years as a lawyer, Tracy has learned that insurance companies and big corporations try to pay as little as they can, even on valid claims. Tracy uses the law to take the fight to the big companies, and to demand that they either settle claims fairly or face a jury trial.
Since law school, where he served as Articles Editor for the Minnesota Law Review, Tracy has firmly believed in the value of strong communication and teaching. He often lectures at seminars for other attorneys, makes presentations to college groups about liability and sports law, and has spent many years teaching as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School. He received the NBI Outstanding Faculty award in 2022 and 2023. Tracy particularly enjoys helping coach the local high school mock trial team, which he’s done for over 20 years, helping young people learn how to think critically, to stand and argue in a competitive setting, and to emphasize teamwork and good communication skills as tools for success.
Tracy is a board-certified civil trial specialist who works in the state and federal courts of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Based on reviews by other lawyers, Tracy has been listed multiple times in Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers. Besides practicing law, he enjoys sports and outdoor activities such as running and golf, and often volunteers at fluid stations for the Twin Cities Marathon. He is a die-hard fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
