Attorney Information
Overview
Amanda K. Gennerman has practiced immigration law exclusively since 2004. Prior to joining Pines Bach LLP, she founded the Gennerman Law Group in Madison, Wisconsin, where she practiced from 2004 to 2020.
Amanda’s practice encompasses a broad range of immigration matters, including family-based petitions (adjustment of status, consular processing, and removal of conditions); humanitarian relief (VAWA self-petitions, U nonimmigrant visa petitions, Temporary Protected Status, Military Parole in Place and DACA); naturalization applications; and removal defense. She also advises clients on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
Amanda represents clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) Immigration Courts, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). She has litigated immigration matters in both the Western and Eastern Districts of Wisconsin and is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
In addition to her legal practice, Amanda is deeply committed to supporting immigrant communities. She is a cofounder, board member, and volunteer with the Community Immigration Law Center (CILC) in Madison. She travels around the state of Wisconsin to present immigration law to community organizations as well as to local middle and high schools. She has presented at University of Wisconsin–Madison, University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, Waukesha County Technical College, and the Wisconsin State Bar. She has spoken nationally at American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Annual Conference (Denver 2025). She has mentored several Department of Justice–accredited representatives and has participated as a mentor in the Dane County Bar Association Mentorship Program.
Amanda’s work has been published by the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, specifically in their U Visa Manual. She was named a Rising Star Attorney of Wisconsin in 2006, 2008, and 2009, and received the Dane County Pro Bono Award for Legal Services in 2010 and again 2022.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), ASISTA, and the Dane County Bar Association. She is current Treasurer of the Wisconsin AILA Chapter and serves as the Chapter’s Well- Being Liaison.
On a personal note, Amanda is the mother of two boys. She enjoys practicing yoga and spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and attending her son’s baseball games. She always makes time for March Madness.
