I went to Coughlon Law Firm after I tried to apply for my Green Card on my own and was very unsuccessful. People sometimes believe that they can apply by themselves but don’t really understand the amount of work that goes with it. Mr. Coughlon was very professional, patient, considerate and accommodating to our financial situation and we are happy that we chose him. He walked us through the process, helped us with getting all the documents that we need and in the end I got 10 years on my green card! I definitely recommend them and I am grateful for everything that they did for us. Don’t try to do it on your own, give them a call. You won’t be disappointed.

The best attorney in Arizona! I have a lot to thank :-) I emailed Mr. Coughlon for the first time and after 10 minutes he was calling me back. And for the first moment I knew he was the right attorney. I live in Florida and Mr. Coughlon handle my case in Arizona. He took all my calls, replied all my emails, was patient and very professional. Hi is a very honest attorney! Thank you again Mr. Coughlon for all you did! Muchas gracias Mr. Coughlon

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
