I came to Troy with a complicated employment issue that had a lot of moving parts. From the first meeting with Troy, I felt I had an ally and someone that understood what I was facing, the legal ramifications and potential consequences I would face if I didn't take action. After our first meeting, Troy laid out all of my options and we came up with a plan that would protect my job and put me in the best possible position to face what I would be going through. I followed Troy's advice every step of the way and feel that he has strategically looked at all options and provided solid legal and personal advice. Troy is prompt in responding, which really helped ease my worries through the process and sleep better at night. With Troy's experience as a former Human Resources Director, he brings a valuable perspective that you don't find at other firms. He also sets fair and reasonable expectations on what to expect and doesn't give you false hope. I can't say enough good things about how Troy has handled my case and would encourage anyone who is dealing with an employment issue, to call Troy. In fact, I have already referred The Foster Law group to a friend of mine and she retained Troy's expertise for her case as well. "

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2021My experience with the Foster law firm was nothing short of stellar, starting with the first contact and consultation call. Troy was calming, concise, assertive and supportive. Haley was insightful, prudent, acute and practical. Krista was always delightful, encouraging, and always expressed genuine dutifulness regarding my concerns and communications. I also had brief contacts with another member of the team and they professionally paralleled one another , in fact, the entire team operates as one for the best outcome. I fervently recommend The Foster law firm, they will walk with you in the valley of giants! E.M.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
