PLEASE READ: My review is NOT that I didn't get the settlement I wanted but lack of work, responses, and attention to my case with no children. 5/23/24 met Aaron gave him ALL the evidence needed to decide whether to move forward. He told me we will go after the home, spousal support, furniture, & legal fees. When he wanted a contract signed & $7000 transferred to his trust account, he was very responsive. He did only enough work to respond to court filings/opposing counsel, but my emails (at $80 per) went unanswered. At no time in 7 months & a mound of evidence that proved the case, did he not want us to move forward with our claim. After Aaron filed a motion for mediation, that's when I demanded a meeting to discuss unanswered emails and a plan for moving forward. 12/19/24 met Aaron only to be told I have no claims on anything. No evidence was presented by opposing counsel in discovery that was not provided by me over the 7 months. Spent $10K+ to find out what he should have told me in May 2024. He would not have stopped charging me until I called a halt to it. I was awarded my dog, which I owned before the divorce, and my name back. I am a 71-yr old woman on social security. PLEASE DON'T USE HIM.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
