Attorney Information
Overview
Craig is a Tucson native who has practiced law for 25 years in Arizona in the areas of estate planning, estate and gift taxation, probate, and trust administration. Craig is a Certified Specialist in Estate & Trust Law by the State Bar of Arizona and a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation.
Craig is a past chair of the State Bar Probate & Trust Section and the Estate and Trust Advisory Committee for specialization. He's a former President of the Arizona Fiduciaries Association and the Southern Arizona Estate Planning Council. He was long ago an erstwhile writer, as evidenced by his award winning humorous combination of law and swords-and-sorcery published in the State Bar's magazine, and he regularly appeared on KVOA's News at 4 as the station's legal contributor.
Craig earned his J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1995. His wife, Patti, is also an attorney, and his pretty-much-grown sons no longer keep him quite as busy, but his dogs Stella and Luna still need him. Craig's passion for heavy metal music remains very much intact, and his CD collection continues to grow.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
