Hired Law firm 2020I want to share my experience with Natasha and her office. I came to them hoping to resolve an issue related to a disability. I am 100% disabled due to a traumatic brain injury and went through some hard times. Over a 3 month span I only spoke with Natasha once. Durning that phone call I express what I was trying to accomplish. She did not listen to a word I said and insulted me by stating the people use mental illnesses to get out of trouble. This is an attorney I hired to help, I don’t understand why she said this but I felt so little and small after those comments. During my first court date I guess my kids or someone had changed my zoom name. I was not aware. We finished the court proceeding and I did not hear from anyone for 5 day. However they didn’t call to discus my case, it was her secretary and she called to let me know Natasha was embarrassed about my name. Natasha’s son was walking behind her during our meeting in shorts and no shirt but she was embarrassed about my name. Her secretary said “I am not going to argue with you”, at that point I hung up. In an email I asked for Natasha to call me so that we might discus my case. In which I heard nothing. The following day I asked for her to withdraw herself as my counsel. She wrote the judge and said that I was being confrontational and needed to withdraw herself. This is not someone you should hire if you want someone to represent your best interests. He secretary is abrasive and condescending and they will take the other of least resistance. Meaning whatever outcome you were hoping for, is not Relevant to their firm.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
