Hired Attorney Ronald K. Mullin 2024-2025
From my first interaction with Ron Mullin, it was clear that I was working with an attorney of exceptional competence, professionalism, and integrity. Navigating a probate case can be emotionally and legally complex, but Mr. Mullin made the process remarkably smooth and manageable from beginning to end. What I anticipated would be a prolonged and difficult ordeal was instead handled with remarkable efficiency and clarity, thanks entirely to Mr. Mullin’s expertise. His calm and confident presence immediately instilled trust, and his depth of knowledge in probate law was evident at every stage of the process. Mr. Mullin consistently took the time to explain legal matters in a way that was easy to understand, ensuring I was informed and comfortable with each decision being made. He never rushed through discussions, and I always felt that my questions were welcomed and answered with both patience and precision. Beyond his legal skills, what stood out most was his genuine sense of fairness and commitment to doing what was right—not just what was expedient. I felt supported and respected throughout a difficult chapter, and I’m deeply grateful for the care he brought to this experience. For anyone facing the uncertainties of probate and unsure whom to trust with such important matters, I can offer my wholehearted recommendation: Ron Mullin is the attorney you want on your side.

Thank you so much, Laura, for taking the time to share such thoughtful words about your experience with our firm. Your review truly means the world to me and reflects the core values that guide everything we do. Probate matters are among the most personal and emotionally challenging legal issues families face. It has always been my belief that exceptional legal representation must be paired with genuine compassion and understanding. I'm deeply gratified to know that you felt supported, informed, and comfortable throughout your case. Your recognition of our commitment to doing what's right speaks to the integrity that must be at the heart of all legal practice. Reviews like yours remind me why our firm remains dedicated to providing not just excellent legal services, but doing so with the caring, personal touch that makes all the difference during life's most challenging moments. Thank you again for your trust and for sharing your experience with others who may be facing similar circumstances. It was truly an honor to serve you and your family. With sincere appreciation, Ron Mullin

I’m a legal aid lawyer on the east coast, trying with my wife to arrange the best care for my mother-in-law, who broke her hip while visiting family in Concord. She ended up staying in Concord, upending all our planning for her care in Arizona, where she had been living. Ron Mullin was recommended by CANHR and at two critical junctures in our planning he has provided our family with knowledgeable and well targeted advice. He was respectful and patient with us and he went out of his way to make my mother-in-law feel included and important during our discussion. Having been on the other side of the desk for similar consultations, I was impressed and grateful. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an elder law attorney in the Bay Area. On two separate occasions Ron Mullin has consulted with

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST Absolutely the worst law office I have ever experienced. Luckily, I did not end up hiring them. I called this office seeking assistance with a family legal matter and initially spoke with the customer service "Katie" "Chatie" . I was not given a reasonable opportunity to speak or ask questions, even though I was the one making the hiring decision and paying for the service. I felt repeatedly interrupted while trying to explain my situation, and at times it was difficult to finish a sentence without being cut off. The conversation became unproductive and ended abruptly. I do not recommend this office at all. If you work in customer service, you allow the customer to finish speaking rather than interrupting or hanging up. Some people need better training in basic customer service skills. They also attempted to contact my family members, possibly to justify or excuse their conduct or to pursue alternative clients, despite me clearly stating that I am the prospective client, the person paying for the entire service, and the one making the hiring decision. My 84-year-old mother-in-law, who is elderly and in poor health, was also contacted by the attorney and asked to write a positive review despite my negative experience, as if trying to override what I personally went through. I told her she can write a review based on her own experience, but it will not override mine I also told my wife to close any discussion with the firm. How low is it for a law office to ask an elderly, unwell woman for a positive review? How despicable. This demonstrates a fundamental failure to understand client authority and intake procedure. I am the sole decision-maker and the only party responsible for payment for my family in this matter. Any engagement or service will not proceed with your office and anybody you suggested to my family will not work with us either. Maybe next time let the payer talk—they are the client. I have never had this experience in Europe especially with a receptionist.

Firm Information

Overview

Practicing since 1978, Ron Mullin and the other members of the Mullin Law Firm have helped people protect aging loved ones and family legacies. At our office in Concord, California, we counsel clients through complex estate planning procedures. Our attorneys are highly skilled in analyzing family situations and drafting documents that provide the tools for dealing with the multitude of situations that may arise, such as handling assets and heath care decisions. These documents include wills, trusts, advance health care directives, conservatorships and powers of attorney. We also routinely assist with probate and estate administration to ensure that family wishes are honored.

Beyond our focus on estate planning, our law firm offers representation for broader elder law matters. Using our deep knowledge of Medi-Cal long term care eligibility, estate recovery lien avoidance and other regulations, we help clients protect and care for aging loved ones while legally preserving assets. Our attorneys also handle inheritance litigation issues involving trustees, executors and administrators. Whenever possible, we seek to resolve disputes through informal discussions or mediation to avoid going to trial. But if the situation demands aggressive representation at trial, we are ready! We work with our clients, listen to them and counsel them on decisions that achieve their goals and provide value to them.

In addition to elder and estate matters, we handle select business and commercial law cases. We have helped entrepreneurs and business owners form entities, including corporations, partnerships, limited liability partnerships and limited liability companies. Our attorneys also assist with the drafting and negotiation of contracts. If necessary, we intervene in disputes and also litigate business matters. Mullin Law Firm welcomes clients from the greater Contra Costa County area, including the cities of Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville, San Ramon, Lafayette, Orinda, Martinez and Pleasant Hill. We provide detailed monthly bills and accept Visa, MasterCard and PayPal as an accepted form of payment.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
