    Consulted Attorney 2023
Called for consult and I couldn't even get through a sentence explaining the situation without her cutting me off, talking over me, asking me questions that would have been answered if she let me finish. I wasn't able to even explain half of the things that have gone on before she started yelling and belitting me. I don't know how this person is supposedly a top lawyer, why anyone would pay $375/hr to work with this person is beyond me. I eventually had to hang up and then she called me 2x back to back and left voicemails. I deleted them without listening.

I can't believe this company is even in business and how did this business passed the bar??!! After looked this name up: Alisa Morgenthaler, I have found: she was on the Discipline back in 08/27/2019 Conviction record transmitted to State Bar Court 19-C-30422 I have called asked for (Litigation) Tenant Rights Attorney. After briefly explained to her on my case. The female who answered my called told me: landlord has "absolutely" right to evict a tenant when a tenant lives for less than a year. Even if there's no fault of tenant (lease is still valid, tenant never been late for rent and no what-so-ever that a landlord can find a fault). I have clearly told "her" (the one who answered my call on Mar 23, 2021 at 4:22pm) that, landlord is: - retaliation - threaten tenant for (wrongful) eviction, which landlord has NO case of. - harassment - decreases services - Intentional infliction of emotional distress - Violations of the Consumer Protection Act (Chapter 93A). She respond with: why don't you move out? I responded: do you know the rental situation is bad out there due to COVid-19?? She responded: I know there are plenty of rental out there, I have been dealing with it all the time. There's no problem! WHAT??? A landlord can "threaten" rightful and lawful tenant to move out with eviction when the lease is not up yet!!! ** I have a good credit (over 700), I do have cash sitting in the bank.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
