    Hired Attorney 2023
One of The worst human heartless lier I ever dealt with , I hired him for mediation purpose , I am a plaintiff , and I had a judgement against the defendant $7.225M , when I hired John Barber , he promised me of a list to do things , first thing of it was that he would meet with me once a week him and his lier partner “ James O’Hagan” until the mediation of my case was over , that was a lie because he never met with me again after I signed the retainer agreement , also he lied to me and he said that he had an office in orange county and that was a lie , also he had his first ad only meeting with me in Upland California claiming that he wanted to meet with me with me in someplace in the middle between Orange County and Upland ,ca to save me long distance driving but that was a lie because upland , ca was further from Palm Springs , Ca than orange county where his office was supposed to be according to his lie , In that first meeting he told that the next meeting would be in the same unknown office in Upland California Thursday 8 am I had to leave my home early 6am to drive 89 miles to Upland , CA from Palm Springs, CA to meet with him , I spent two hours driving and waited for him at the building where we met in Upland but he didn’t show up , after an hour waiting for him , I called him and text him several times but he wouldn’t answer his phone and he would not get back to me , I finally had to call his lying partner James O’Hagan who told me that the meeting was cancelled , I had to drive more than two hours 89 miles and spent more than 6 hours round trip and wait time to a cancelled appointment and that con artist wouldn’t bother to let me know to save me time and driving and money , until today he never said sorry for the Wong he did by having me driving to a cancel appointment, One other thing he tried to scam me with , he wanted me to sign a retainer agreement with him that didn’t have his address or phone number and his lying partner address or phone number. I hired him specifically to do the mediation with me and as I said that we were supposed to meet once a week but that didn’t happen . Two weeks before the mediation he disappeared in order to avoid any question from me about the mediation or any plan , when first time I met with him he said he was planning to ask the defendant to settle for at least seven million dollar But in the day of the mediation he wouldn’t set next to me like any lawyer would do with his client but he set in the other side of a the very large table so I wouldn’t have an access to talk to him . One more thing which very Growth , that John Barber is strictly defendant attorney , he defend insurance companies , Airlines , employers , but he lied to me and told me that he was a plaintiff attorney , so his lying partner James O’Hagan was also strictly defendant attorney , and they both dealt and have conflict of interest with the insurance company for the Airline., they both scammed me because I am Immigrant and English is my second language , that explained why he surprised me at the mediation day that he was going to ask for only $600,000 instead of the seven million dollar that initiated the deal between us. He never told me that he was fired from his previous law firm that he was working for Lewis Brisbiois for his racism and for his anti semitism remarks against Jewish and for anti LGBTQ ,. He is the worst heartless inhuman I ever dealt with , I am 65 years old disable , gay , immigrant , and I met all his standards to be dealt harsh with him for all the obvious reasons . I don’t recommend Attorney John Barber to any one even to my worst enemy , if you are immigrant please take my advise “don’t” he should be disbarred to stop him from hurting more people. If I can give him minus stars , I would .

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
