Consulted Attorney 2025Rude, unprofessional, and by the end of the 9 minute call, Peter was still asking me, "What is the issue you're calling about?" He said he didn't know how to view any of the documents I submitted, any of the images I submitted, and didn't know how to view the paragraph I had written when opening the case. He did not have knowledge about tax law. I will be filing a complaint against this attorney.

Consulted Attorney 2024I’m a mother of a dependent adult due to severe mental health challenges requesting power of attorney information. This unprofessional affiliate of Legal Sheild refused to give me his name. Refused to explain the process and procedures of my request. He continued to speak over me. I kindly asked him allow me to ask clarifiying questions because I have no knowledge of this type of thing. He raised his voice and told me to listen to him. He stated he would sen out a Will in email. Which I sincerely requested a him to explain how the will related to the initial request. He refused to explain. I then shared my confusion on why he was refusing and that I didn’t appreciate his unprofessional conduct. He then stated that he decided to retract from sending the document because I provided him with feedback on how he was lacking professionalism and not presenting himself to as an expert and failed to provide information and assistance to me. I have been with Legal Sheild since 2017 and have never been treated this way by Stanbury Attorneys. I asked for his name again at this time and he chose to hang up on me. I called back and asked to speak to his supervisor and was able to get his full name. I have made an official complaint against you Peter Lee for your purposeful an unnecessary refusal for help. Your retaliation and refusal to provide appropriate information and documentation needs to be addressed, Peter Lee you have to take accountability of your actions. Your unprofessionalism is downright debilitating and has added stress to an already complicated situation and it’s disgusting. You’re a horrible human being to treat a mother this way. I do not recommended this unkind inpatient and unprofessional Attorney. Ask for someone who gives a damn! He doesn’t! If I could give him 0 as a rating I would

Consulted Attorney 2024Regrettably, I find myself echoing sentiments expressed about Mr. Lee dating back to 2021, now revisited in 2024. While Mr. Lee initially appeared amiable, my attempt to engage him on a fundamental question and the purpose of my call, a matter previously screened by the intake representative at Parker Stanbury who then directed me to Mr. Lee, yielded disappointing results. Instead of addressing my straightforward inquiry, Mr. Lee chose to challenge the illustrations I provided in an effort to elucidate my question, seemingly lacking either understanding or willingness to engage in a meaningful dialogue. His insistence on revisiting unrelated points from a prior conversation, conducted two months prior and with different questions entirely, left me perplexed and led me to question whether he truly comprehended my concerns and my English. Despite his assertions to the contrary, he consistently refused to engage with my fundamental inquiry which I attribute to retaliation for clarifying if he fully understood my English. My simple request to understand the concept of elder abuse, coming from a place of genuine ignorance as a non-legal professional, should have prompted Mr. Lee to solicit further details about my situation. Instead, he fixated on past discussions, needlessly complicating and confounding my new inquiry. Assessing a client's situation within his licensed scope of practice under the California Bar should not have been such a challenging endeavor. A brief conversation should have sufficed to identify the strengths and weaknesses of my concerns. However, Mr. Lee's reaction to my attempts to address a potential miscommunication and his subsequent alignment with an extreme interpretation of the opposing side's views were both unprofessional and unsettling. His evident bias did not foster a sense of trust or peace for me as the client. While I appreciate the demands of handling high call volumes, having previously worked in customer service myself, I cannot overlook the need to address the issues presented by Mr. Lee's conduct. Such behavior warrants discussion with management, as it represents a clear lapse in professional conduct and fails to provide the level of service expected from a licensed attorney. Sad to report, It will definitely be a more efficient use of time to seek counsel elsewhere

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
