Hired Law firm 2019-2020Bruce Ketron was my attorney for a probate case. The case was contested and Mr. Ketron immediately arranged depositions of friends of the deceased and that contest was withdrawn. This case was handled during the Covid-19 Pandemic and we were still able to get it accomplished in reasonable time. He responded within a day when I called or emailed regarding any questions and he explained everything thoroughly as the case proceeded.

Consulted Law firm 2019I have been an attorney in Napa, Ca. for over 40 years. I consider myself a general practitioner, in that I practice in almost all areas of law; most of my cases requiring courtroom litigation. Last year, while litigating a difficult and complex estate matter the estate required a professional fiduciary (administrator) and Mr. Ketron was appointed. The estate had previously suffered endless delays and fiduciary abuse resulting in great damage to the beneficiaries. Then Mr. Ketron was appointed. Immediately upon his appointment everything changed. The estate was reorganized and the legal process smoothed out resulting in a swift, fair and appropriate resolution, saving litigants and beneficiaries thousands of dollars. I found Mr. Ketron to be quick to recognize what needed to be done, efficient in getting those tasks accomplished, professional and reliable. Mr. Ketron is an attorney and professional fiduciary who can be relied upon to put in the time and work right away to get the job done correctly and on time.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
