    Hired Attorney 2016-2019
Steven Briggs [mis]represented Parent 2, a defendant in OC Court, Family Law case #16D002824 and did a horrific job! Parent 1 - a wealthy philandering opiates-addict & narcissist - hired an [in]famous LA firm of aggressive female attorneys; and the ladies kicked Mr. Briggs backside. Parent 1 requested an out-of-state move nearly 1,000 miles away and pretended it was in “good faith”. The private judge, David Weinberg, a close friend of Mr Briggs’, ruled in favor of Parent 1 on ALL counts. It wouldn’t have been half as bad, except 4 beautiful young children are now bereft of their beloved Parent 2, and the children’s lives have been irreparably damaged. With Mr Briggs’ and Mr Weinberg’s decades of collective legal wisdom and experience, I could hardly believe all the loss was not deliberately orchestrated for the purposes of financial gain. Mr Weinberg, Mr Briggs, the Ladies from LA - all walked away with many $100,000’s in their pockets. The only losers were Parent 2 and the children. Thank you, Mr Briggs and Mr Weinberg for your expert legal prowess!

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
