Hired Law firm 2019-2021I've been with Brayton and Purcell since about 2010 exploring the possibilities of an asbestos related Mesothelioma. Earlier I had spent about 4 years in the US Navy working in the steam generation and propulsion space aboard a destroyer where asbestos lined steam pipes where in every space from the mess deck to the berthing area. I might mention that just about anywhere on this ship one would be in close proximity of asbestos as the ship is lined with asbestos covered steam lines just about everywhere. In late 2018 my CT scan found a spot on my right lower lobe and a biopsy was scheduled in a few days. The biopsy found cancer and within a couple of months I had lung surgery with my lower RH lobe excised. During this period I wanted to have my bladder and prostate checked with my urologist finding cancer in both areas. This is when I called the law offices of Brayton and Purcell in California regarding this issue as I did not know where to turn. I've found the individuals at this firm to be exceptionally skilled in every way from legal assistant, paralegal and attorney- easy to get along with hard working and diligent seem to be part of the training. Some of the names of special people are Ann Archer, Eric Solomon, Jenine Fiel-Cosse Katie Barnacle and others too, too many to mention here. Highly recommended as a one stop service. G.M.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
