I would highly recommend Mr. Helfman and his team for Work Comp help. Being new to all this myself I can't thank them enough for what they have done for me. Don't hesitate on giving them a call.

Ben is a competent, reliable, and compassionate attorney who cares deeply for his injured clients and their families who are also affected by an injured loved one. My husband's claim (arising from an injury in November 2012) was finally settled in December 2023. Without Ben and his staff - Russell and Amanda - the process to resolution would have been nearly impossible to navigate. Ben's knowledge and ability to keep the claim on track was key to finally putting the injury behind us both. Having a dedicated professional on our side made the difference in holding insurance companies accountable for their responsibilities under the law. Our respect and admiration for Ben makes it easy to recommend him to anyone who needs the Workers Compensation services he provides. A decade after being injured, my husband and I can put this behind us and move on. Thanks Ben, Russell, and Amanda!

I want to thank you for the excellent representation you demonstrated while handling my case. You successfully negotiated an MSA which I feel is very generous. You and your staff, Amanda and Russell, always demonstrated patience and professionalism, you should be very proud. Thanks to you and your staff, I am free of the Worker Compensation System. Thanks again, and good luck in the future.

ABOVE AND BEYOND are the only words that truly reflect the levels of professionalism, individualized case dedication, and overall hassle-free experience one can expect by choosing legal representation by Ben Helfman at Leep, Tescher, Helfman and Zanze. Over the past 7 years, Ben has proven (to me) to be unmatched with regards to his up-to-date knowledge of what I first feared would be a complex, confusing, and frustrating Worker's Compensation labyrinth. Ben goes ABOVE by using similes and metaphors (when necessary) to create analogies that are easy for one to comprehend. I feel this extra mile type service is to help educate his clients throughout their cases, alongside of his unparalleled professional representation. BEYOND his exceptional knowledge and attention to detail in his representation, and what I feel separates both Mr. Helfman and his wonderful staff from the rest, is the time they take to help YOU understand exactly “what” and “why” certain processes and procedures will best benefit you and your individualized case. Ben and the entire staff at Leep, Tescher, Helfman and Zanze are also prompt, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. Every question I asked was answered in a manner that was clear, concise and unmistakable. For the very best in Worker's Compensation client care, I highly recommend the representation of Ben Helfman. His approach is personal, comforting, and he leaves you feeling that you are, in fact, in very capable and secure hands. I truly feel Mr. Helfman is a firm believer in the phrase “The only dumb question is the one not asked.” Ben Helfman is without a doubt one top shelf attorney!

I called the office May 4th 2021 inquiring about subsequent injury benefit trust fund. Young man advised me that that benefit is only for soldiers coming home from war with a missing leg or something and "that would be a pre-existing condition." And that I am "not eligible," the young man stated. Even though 2005 spinal fusion surgery from work-related injury has manifested today into me being partially paralyzed. The worst practice in any practice is to have your receptionist giving out advice in any shape or form. It sounded ridiculous when he said it because it was ridiculous. I have labelled my encounter as a consultation because I feel that's what I got my free consultation. I did my homework your boy Friday needs to do his. I know you're Law Office has a Stellar reputation that's why I called you. Thank you

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
